Calypso St. Barth for Target
It must be the warm, balmy weather we are having lately because I can't stop thinking of our annual July beach trip. I'm obsessed with flowy skirts, sundresses, and tropical colors. Luckily, on Sunday May 1, Target will release its latest designer collaboration, Calypso St. Barth for Target!
The Calypso St. Barth line is known for their resort wear and easy summer style as well as housewares with a tropical influence. The dresses are priced in the $200 range. I don't know about you but $200 for a dress I'll be wearing at the beach or by the pool is too much. The Target collection also includes items for the home. Prices for the entire collection range from $1.99 to $79.99.
In addition to the affordable prices, many of the items will be available in all size ranges (petite, women's and plus). The collection also contains items for little girls.
Here are my favorites from the collection. These items are available in all sizes.
There are so many items in the collection. I couldn't possibly show them all to you. You'll be able to mix many of the items, which I love.
The collection also includes accessories. I really love these...
You know that I firmly believe that no matter size you wear, you should have access to great fashion. Kudos to Target for including so many of the items in all sizes. Below is a list of the items that will be available in petite and plus sizes. The items in blue will be available in all sizes.

Inspiration - Sexy Isn't a Size
Meet beautiful model, Marquita Pring. She's walked the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier and is the one of the newest models for Levi's. In this interview with NY Magazine she talks about being healthy and how designers should embrace all sizes.

Inspiration - Plus Size Models
The fashion world is doing a better job at embracing women who aren't a size 2. I am always in awe of the amazing confidence of plus size models. They appear in ads, walk the runway and compete for jobs against women who are less than half their size. Keep in mind that in the fashion world any woman over a size 8 is considered plus size. Of course this isn't the same as off the rack clothing.
Many of these beautiful ladies have battled anorexia in order to get modelling jobs. They've come to accept their natural size and shape and embrace their curves. I'm finding inspiration in these women as I continue my 30 for 30 journey.
P.S. Another 30 for 30 post coming soon...
