There are tons of "reality" fashion shows on TV today. Thanks to the success of Project Runway (which I love), a huge crop of less than stellar copy cats have surfaced (i.e. Launch My Line). This Monday, BRAVO will premier Kell on Earth.
It's my hope that Kelly Cutrone will help to show the not so pretty side of fashion. Let's face it, Project Runway shows some amazing fashion but the competition is far from a realistic portrayal of the day-to-day world of the industry. Kelly's company, People's Revolution, is a fashion branding and PR company. They don't design fashion, they produce fashion shows and campaigns.
Kelly's raw edge will be a refreshing change from the glossy world that is usually shown on fashion reality shows. Check out a preview at: http://www.bravotv.com/kell-on-earth
UPDATE: Kell on Earth did not disappoint. It was everything I hoped and more. She talked about keeping her business going in tough times, getting fired for seating Ashley Dupre (the call girl who was with Elliot Spitzer) on the front row, and the hard work, long hours, and tough skin that it takes to work in fashion.
