The Sweet Life of Alexandria

Saturday {msL} and I attended The Sweet Life of Alexandria sponsored by Pink Dot Concepts. The event was an afternoon filled with sweet treats for the tummy and body.  The Sweet Life is a traveling event where local bakers and vendors can meet and greet local customers.  The event announcement says, to think of it as a bake sale with professional bakers. It's a great chance for those planning an event like a wedding or a party to taste treats from lots of confectioners, in one place. There were also a Dove Chocolate Discoveries vendor and a Stella & Dot stylist.

Lollipop Brownies and frosted Cookies from the Lollipop Chef

Cupcakes from Eat Your Heart Out Baking
Red Velvet Cupcakes from Perfect Pink Cupcakes
There were so many amazing bakers at The Sweet Life that I was on a sugar high.  The Lollipop Chef sampled rich, chocolate and cream cheese brownies.  They were {msL's} favorite. The moist and creamy cupcakes from Eat Your Heart Out Baking were so yummy. I loved the apple cinnamon. I've written of my love for Perfect Pink Cupcakes before.  Finally {msL} got the chance to try their delightful cupcakes that are so full of flavor.

Chocolate Mixes, Goodies, and Sauces from Dove Chocolate Discoveries
Before meeting Essala Lowe, Dove Chocolate Discoveries representative and owner of Sweet Endeavors, I had no idea that Dove Chocolate had a direct sales line.  You can contact Essala to host a tasting party and sample all of the goodies she has to offer.

Stella & Dot Jewelry from Stylist Kristin Biggs

In case you thought the icing was only on the cupcakes, Kristin Biggs, Stella & Dot stylist, was on hand to show you how to decorate yourself.  She had lots of beautiful jewelry to try and buy.  You can purchase Stella & Dot jewelry through Kristin's website.  If you'd like to see the fantastic Stella & Dot bling in person and are interested in hosting your own Stella & Dot trunk show, just contact Kristin.

We also sampled goodies from Cakebee, Tweet's Sweets, Cakes from the Hart, and K& M Cupcakes. Each baker had amazing talents and unique cakes and treats to share. Each of their approaches to baking were are unique as each of them.

I also go the chance to meet Stephanie of The Cupcake Critic.  Be sure to check out her blog for new cupcake recipes, interviews, reviews of DC area cupcake bakers.

If you live in the DC area and didn't get a chance to attend The Sweet Life of Alexandria, never fear.  There will be Sweet Life events in Woodbridge and Manassas in the month of August. Come out and taste all of the goodies. Since we are in the wedding planning process, The Sweet Life of Alexandria was a great way to spend a few hours trying lots of different bakers all in one place.

YUM!!!
